The Ocean Image Bank was developed by the nonprofit The Ocean Agency and launched in 2021 at the start of the UN Decade of Ocean Science.

The collection brings together thousands of beautiful and powerful ocean science photos and videos, made freely available thanks to the generosity of more than 200 of the world’s leading ocean photographers, videographers and science organizations. By providing open access to high-quality imagery, the Ocean Image Bank helps address the lack of quality imagery available to ocean scientists, conservationists, educators, and the media, helping them with the visuals they need to engage the public and inspire support.
